1) Revise your SDAIE Lesson Unit for PACT and 1 lesson plan (PACT) taking into consideration suggestions made during the PACT class of February 2nd, 2012. Upload revised materials on GauchoSpace. SEE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW FOR WHAT KINDS OF MATERIALS TO UPLOAD ON GAUCHOSPACE.
2) Browse through the PACT rubric for planning, assessment, and Academic Language in your content area (posted on GauchoSpace). How would you rate your SDAIE lesson unit and lesson plan(s) taking the PACT criteria for Academic Language into consideration?
3) Write a letter to Clara addressing your concerns, questions, and further comments regarding designing SDAIE lessons and lesson units. Upload your letter onto GauchoSpace.
*Feedback*
Teacher feedback can take the form of: 1) a written response to your letter addressing the presence or not of SDAIE features in the materials you upload OR 2) a 30-minute face-to-face conversation and collaborative analysis of your SDAIE lesson unit, including videos. Please contact Clara at cbauler@education.ucsb.edu regarding your preferrences. Clara's office hours are: Wednesdays from 2 to 3:45pm and Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30. Other times can be arranged.

Homework Due Class #9 (January 19th, 2012)
Please do the following until Thursday, January 19th, 2012:
1) Readings: Read Huerta-Macias (2002) and Gee & Hayes (2011). Think of ways this might relate to alternative forms of assessment in your content area.
2) Project Work & Assessment: (Do this after you do your readings.) Post a reflective comment under the SAME link previously assigned to your group in our class wiki (link under homework for class #9). This is a short comment (3-5 lines/100-200 words). Consider the ways and when assessment is happening in your projects.

1) Treasure Hunt: Find one concrete resource and/or strategy to work with ELs in our *new* GauchoSpace website. You can also use our textbook. Bring it to class to share.
2) Traditional test: Bring a test or quiz you or your CT have used in one of your placements.
3) Readings: What time is it, Denise?, Reiss, CH. 9, and Assessment Challenges in the NCLB Act.
4) Project Self-Assessment: Complete the self-assessment via online questionnaire to reflect on your group experience. This is very important for our work. (See list of links for online questionnaire.)
